The NY Times Bestselling Author, James Patterson, has given money to 3 San Diego book stores. in his ongoing effort to support independent bookstores. Warwick’s in La Jolla and the UC San Diego bookstore will receive grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 each. In all, Patterson is distributing $250,000 to 149 employees at bookstores across the country as holiday bonuses.
“The attention these employees give to their customers is intrinsic to keeping them interested in reading,” Patterson said in a statement. “Booksellers can really make a difference in people’s lives, and I’m glad to be able to acknowledge their contributions in some way.”
