Today and tomorrow are the last two nights of the Point Loma Nazarene University Writer's Symposium, which started last night. The Writer’s Symposium by the Sea is an annual event that hosts evocative conversation that will inspire the reader, and writer, alike. The evening interviews, conducted by symposium founder Dean Nelson, are followed by an audience Q&A.
Opening night featured U.S. Poet Laureate, Robert Pinsky, who performed with the PLNU Jazz Combo for a night of poetry and jazz. Tonight will feature a discussion with author, Shauna Niequist. Niequist’s new book is Present Over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic For A Simpler, More Soulful Way Of Living. Tomorrow night, Pulitzer Prize winning author, Tracy Kidder, will close out the Symposium. Kidder won the Pulitzer Prize for his book The Soul of a New Machine. His newest release is A Truck Full of Money.
