Amy Goodman, the host and executive producer of "Democracy Now!" will be speaking at an event hosted by Activist San Diego on May 16th. "Democracy Now!" is a global grassroots news program, broadcasting on over 1,400 public television and radio stations around the world. Goodman is an acclaimed journalist. She has won the Right Livelihood Award, the George Polk Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Prize for International Reporting, and the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award. She is also the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from Harvard’s Nieman Foundation of Journalism.
Goodman has written 5 previous books. Her new book is, "Covering the Movements Changing America". Amy will be joined in San Diego by her co-author, Denis Moynihan. Moynihan has been working with Democracy Now! since 2000. He is a bestselling author and a King Features syndicated columnist. The event will be held here:
