Pulitzer Prize Winner Eric Lichtblau to Discuss “The Nazis Next Door”

Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Eric Lichtblau, is a veteran investigative reporter with CNN.  Before joining CNN, Lichtblau was a reporter for The New York Times, and also worked at the Los Angeles Times. Lichtblau has been the recipient of numerous awards, and in 2006, won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting for breaking the story of the secret wiretapping program authorized by President Bush, weeks after the September 11 attacks.

Eric Lichtblau will be discussing his new book, The Nazis Next Door: How America Became a Safe Haven for Hitler’s Men, at the Holocaust Living History Workshop (HLHW), which takes place on Wednesday, June 7th, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Price Center East Ballroom on the UC San Diego campus. Among other things, Lichtblau's book reveals that the U.S. allowed approximately 10,000 Nazis to immigrate to the U.S., some of whom were directly involved in genocide.

HLHW is a collaboration between the UC San Diego Library and the UC San Diego Jewish Studies Program.  The event is free and open to the public, and will be preceded by a 4:30 p.m. reception.
