WildStorm Comics 25th Anniversary Reunion Held At San Diego Comic Art Gallery

Last night, the San Diego Comic Art Gallery played host to WildStorm Publishing, for their 25th anniversary celebration and reunion.  Jim Lee, and many other luminaries from WildStorm and DC Comics, were in attendance, making it the largest gathering of WildStorm talent in recent history.

WildStorm was an independent comics publishing company, and was one of the studios that formed Image Comics in 1992.  Image grew out of Homage Studios, and was founded by Jim Lee, Erik Larsen, Whilce Portacio, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Marc Silvestri, and Jim Valentino.  The imprint took its name by combining the titles of Jim Lee's comic book series, WildC.A.T.S. and Stormwatch.  WildStorm became a publishing imprint of DC Comics in 1999. Until it was shut down, the WildStorm imprint remained editorially separate from DC Comics.  Today, the WildStorm universe is officially listed as Earth-50, in the DC multiverse.

People started lining up hours before the doors opened, and the signing, which was supposed to end at 9pm, went on long after in order to accommodate as many fans as possible.  Over the course of the evening, the WildStorm talent signed hats and shirts, and did original art sketches, which were raffled off to fans.  A special WildStorm 25th anniversary comic was made to celebrate the event, and issues were available for sale to attendees for signing.

Some of the artists and creators that came last night were:
