Author Brit Bennett Will Be Speaking At USD

Writer Brit Bennett will read from her works at the University of San Diego, as part of the Lindsay J. Cropper Memorial Writers Series.  Brit Bennett's first novel, The Mothers, was longlisted for the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard First Novel Prize, and was a finalist for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Fiction.   Her work is featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Paris Review, and Jezebel.  In 2016, Bennett was named one of the National Book Foundation's "5 Under 35".

The Lindsay J. Cropper Memorial Writers series was created to inspire the creative writer in everyone.  The purpose of the center is to foster the appreciation and practice of creative writing at the University of San Diego by hosting an annual writers series, sponsoring writing workshops ,and granting awards for creative writing.

Mother Rosalie Hill Hall, Warren Auditorium
This event is free and open to the public.  A dessert reception and book signing will follow the reading.
