Actress Krysten Ritter met with fans and signed her debut novel, Bonfire, at Warwick's Books in La Jolla Thursday night. Bonfire was published by Crown Archetype earlier this month. The idea for the book was initially conceived as a possible television project, but when she realized it wasn't working, she decided to turn it into a book instead. The thriller is a fictionalized look at Ms. Ritter's rural upbringing in Pennsylvania. Publishers Weekly called it “a triumphant fiction debut”, and a “pulse-pounding thriller featuring a sympathetic, broken lead character.”
Ms. Ritter is best known as Marvel's Jessica Jones, but she has also appeared in Gilmore Girls, Breaking Bad, and other projects. Ms. Ritter did not do a reading or Q&A at Warwick's, but I asked her when fans can expect to see the second season of Jessica Jones on Netflix. She said they just filming the season, so hopefully, it will air by mid-2018.
