The Writer’s Symposium by the Sea is an annual event that brings interviews with innovative creators and evocative conversation to Pt. Loma Nazarene University to inspire readers and writers alike. The evening interviews, conducted by symposium founder Dr. Dean Nelson, feature lively conversations about the stories behind the author’s stories.
As a member of the audience, you will get to eavesdrop on these exchanges and, perhaps, even interact with the writer during a Q&A session. There are specialized afternoon workshops, conducted by published writers, which provide tips and insight into the writing process.
The dates and authors for the 2018 symposium are:
February 19, 2018 – Deepak Chopra (in conjunction with Warwicks Books)
February 20, 2018 – Pulitzer Prize winner Jane Smiley (A Thousand Acres)
February 21, 2018 – Peabody Award winner Krista Tippett (Becoming Wise), host of the podcast "On Being"
